#1 Eat More to Gain Weight.

Exomorphic people (skinny people who have trouble gaining fat and muscle) are more likely to have prominent clavicles. 

This is because their body has less fat and does not store much of it in their chest area. 

If you are on the skinny side, increasing your caloric intake can help you gain weight and lessen the prominence of your collar bone. 

To gain weight, however, that doesn’t mean just going on a non-stop eating spree. 

Make sure to increase your intake of foods that are rich in:

  • Carbohydrates – Your body needs carbohydrates for energy. Carbs also help transport nutrients to your muscle cells, making them necessary for muscle growth and repair. Some good sources of carbohydrates are oats, bananas, pasta, corn, and potatoes. You may also consider taking a mass gainer, since these are typically loaded with massive amounts of carbs, along with other mass-building nutrients.
  • Protein – Protein is needed for stimulating muscle growth. Increasing your protein intake makes it easier for you to build strong muscles, allowing you to get the most out of your workouts. Increase your consumption of lean meats, poultry, seafood, or dairy products. Drinking a protein shake every day can also help your body meet its high protein requirements while you exercise.
  • Healthy fats – Whenever you hear the word “fat”, you usually think of it as a negative thing. Your body, however, needs fat to function at its best. It also relies on fat to supply energy to your muscles during exercise. Some fat-rich foods to consider loading up on are nuts, seeds, and fatty fish, such as herring, sardines, trout, and salmon.

#2 Train Your Chest Muscles

One way to lessen the prominent look of your collar bone is to pack on more mass to your chest. 

Even though it won’t completely disappear, increased muscle mass on your chest can make your collar bone look less visible. 

Some popular chest exercises you can do are:

  • Incline bench presses
  • Dumbbell flys
  • Push-ups
  • Pullovers

Regularly doing these exercises can help your chest muscles to gradually expand, which will make your clavicle look less pronounced.
